In July 2001 works began to complete the CTRL into London. The £3.3 billion Section 2 will extend the new railway 39 km (24 miles) from north Kent to St Pancras in central London, via new international stations at Ebbsfleet and Stratford. The entire CTRL will be completed in 2007. CTRL has a Code of Construction Practice within their Environmental Minimum Requirements that promotes best practice with respect to noise mitigation and dust control.
