Thameslink 2000 is a major project for the rail network that will expand the existing Thameslink network to include over 100 extra stations and significantly increase capacity on its current route through central London. It will provide passengers with direct access between more destinations north and south of London, whilst reducing overall journey times and overcrowding for commuters.  More information about the Thameslink 2000 project, including its current status is available from www.networkrail.co.uk
