The East London Line project aims to extend and upgrade the existing Underground line to a new metro-style heavy rail service.   Services will extend from Highbury & Islington in the north to West Croydon and Clapham Junction in the south and west.  The project is led by the Strategic Rail Authority in collaboration with Transport for London, London Underground Limited and Network Rail and should be completed by the end of the decade.

Proposed route maps of both extensions are shown below and further information can be found on the project's website at www.ellp.co.uk
